Shibuya

I never got to finish documenting my travel to Japan, so as I slowly get back into writing again I’ll slowly finish my journey on paper here!

After the view from Tokyo tower we had plenty of time left in the day for another spot. It was around lunch time already by the time we got down from Tokyo tower and made our way outside. The sun was now scorching hot! With it being directly above us we quickly made our way around and tried to find as much shade as possible while heading over to our next destination.

We decided to go to Shibuya and try our hand to see the busiest crossing in Japan. Although it was only midday we decided we would head there before it got too crowded. If you’re a person who likes personal space, this wouldn’t be an ideal area to be. Especially around the start of rush hour and night time! The trendy shopping malls are just as crazy. As we made our way through the busy train station we exited off from Hachiko Exit of Shibuya station. The famous meeting spot that everyone keeps talking about was extremely busy already. It was so busy that we could barely see the Hachiko statue itself among the crowd.

After crossing the area we quickly made our way to Genki Sushi. Click on the link to see more information on their location and or menus. Known for their conveyor belt delivery service, my husband wanted to experience what the hype was all about. We would recommending arriving a bit before lunch, and or dinner time because the waiting line can go right around the corner of the building. If you love sushi, this will be the place for you. There are other items on the menu as well if you’re not feeling like fish. You also get an unlimited supply of green tea if you want! I believe you get about a good 45 minutes to an hour to eat, but trust me, I believe that was enough time for us there.

When you’re seated the tablet in front of you is where you will find your menu, and where you will order from. The menu is both in Japanese and English. Once you find what you want, once the food is made it will arrive on a plate on what looks like a mini skateboard. Exciting! I should have recorded the whole process for you, but in the spur of the moment I just wanted to enjoy my food~ If you happen to be in the area there, I would recommend this place!

After stuffing our faces, I convinced my husband to take me shopping. We made our way to 109. Although I didn’t get to get a few photos as we walked around the many levels of shops. You can literally find anything that will suit your style. There were so many shops in the one building itself that I didn’t even have enough time to travel to the other malls/shops outside on the way to 109!

If I could, I would have shopped all throughout the night and wouldn’t have gone home! With my husband being patient as I walked around and window shopped, I felt bad and made sure I made my browse really quick. After a long day of walking around and shopping we decided to call it a day. We headed back to the Airbnb place that we had booked for the night.

For traveling, I would say, it was easier and sometimes cheaper to find an Airbnb place than finding a hotel. Depending on where you’re going, and what you’re willing to spend, the prices will vary. We found it very easy to use, and while we were traveling around the places that we stayed at were all very lovely. If you’re having a hard time finding a hotel, we recommend trying Airbnb.

Until the next adventure, remember to tune in next week!
Much love, xo.
